Many of you will be familiar with The Waitrose Community Matters scheme whereby customers drop their green tokens into one of three perspex boxes to indicate which local charity they'd like to benefit from a grant. Throughout January and February customers at the St Albans branch have been dropping their tokens into the box marked 'The Living Room' and as a result we have received a grant of £466 from the supermarket giant.

Rita Cooper, Operations Manager at The Living Room, collected the cheque from Georgie Durbin, the Community Matters Champion for Waitrose St Albans. "We are proud that Waitrose St Albans recognised the work we do in the local community and very grateful that their customers contributed so generously to the fund. This award will mean so much to our staff, volunteers and clients."

The Living Room joined The Samaritans, Remap and The St Albans Legacy project as grant recipients.
