7th June 2019

We’re ecstatic that our volunteers nominated us for an award at this year’s Volunteering Herts Conference in Hatfield. All nominees for the award are put forward by their own volunteers and we’re hugely grateful that ours took the time to show their appreciation.

The conference, now in its 11th year, recognises organisations that demonstrate their commitment to managing their volunteers effectively by signing up to and achieving the Hertfordshire Valuing Volunteer Management 6 Point Promise.

This encompasses everything from recruitment and training through to involving volunteers in decision-making and rewarding them for their efforts, to aiding them in their professional and personal development.

The event took place on Tuesday the 4th June at the Beales Hotel in Hatfield, where Chief Executive Adrienne was presented with The Living Room’s third-place prize for ‘Volunteer Management in Hertfordshire’ by Mayor of Welwyn-Hatfield Roger Trigg.

Adrienne said: “It’s great to be recognised for our continued efforts to give our volunteers the best possible opportunities to learn, grow and enjoy themselves during their time here. I’m delighted that our volunteers thought to nominate us for the award. It’s a sure sign that we are making a difference in this regard.”
