I entered The Living Room in 2015 as a hopeless addict who hated life and resented people, the world, and God. I had no self-believe and was under the misperception that my only options were use until I die or be sectioned and suffer enforced abstinence - not much of a choice. Through TLR, I was given belief in others, then belief in myself and forgiveness over the God of my understanding. I was helped to become alcohol-free, then drug-free, then abstinent from a toxic relationship. I was then taught how to commit to eating properly. After 17 months, I left TLR a rebuilt person taking part in three 12-Step fellowships and with a wealth of awareness, tools, and connections which would set me up for a future of growing to be the person I could never be in active addiction. I owe TLR my life and must never lose sight of my gratitude.
