Office Manager and Shop Premises Support

We have an amazing opportunity to become our Office Manager at our Head Office and Shop Premises Support in  Stevenage,

Hours: 35 Hours per week

Salary:  £14.01 per hour (FTE £25,498) rising to £14.21 per hour (FTE £25,862) following 6 months’ probation

Purpose of the role:      

To manage the day-to-day operations and compliance of the hubs.  This includes all administration, health and safety, customer service, supporting the counsellors and managing the accurate recording, reporting and storage of client data. 

To provide premises management for Stevenage and the Charity Shop.

Community Partnerships Volunteer

We have an amazing opportunity to become our Community Partnerships Volunteer

Hours: 6-18 per week

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our External Relations Team to help plan events, raise funds and awareness of The Living Room on our mission in breaking the cycle of addiction for adults in Hertfordshire through free group therapy.

  • Community Fundraising: You will gain experience in researching, writing and submitting local funding bids and promoting one off and continuous donations. You will also be creating positive relationships with local organisations by being passionate about The Living Room and making connections in your community.
  • Fundraising Events: Whether it's a classic quiz night, sponsored walk, or something a bit out of the box, you will have the opportunity to help organise and plan a range of fundraising events for our supporters, the local community, and corporations.
  • Building a Community: Our supporters are at the heart of what we do. A key part of your role will be to help find new ways to work with them to build on our community of volunteers and others passionate about The Living Room. You will be using our CRM to help manage new supporters and analyse data to create the most effective campaigns.

Bank Counsellors

We have amazing opportunities available for Bank Counsellors – with lived experience of recovery from addiction.

Hours: Bank - as and when required

Salary: £14.73 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience

Counsellors trained to minimum of Level 3 are needed to help us deliver our services. Must have lived experience of recovery for our main group sessions or be specialist in a particular behavioural addiction. You should be a fellow of BACP or FDAP or working towards membership. If you are in recovery, you should have a minimum of 5 years of continued abstinence.

All groups are facilitated by two counsellors practicing psycho-therapeutic, psycho-dynamic, person-centred and CBT approaches. You will be supported and will develop as part of a professional and innovative team. We work with our clients on their journey from triage to planned exit, so good IT skills are essential. You will receive great training from skilled professionals in group therapy and dynamics.

The service will be delivered in one of our hubs in Stevenage, St Albans or Watford.

Usual hours are from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

Fundraising Volunteer - Stevenage

Do you want to help your community and want to volunteer for an important local charity? If you could spare a few hours each week, we would love for you to be part of the team.

To be a volunteer, you don’t need any qualifications although if you have specific skills that might be useful, do make those known on your application. What we do need in reliability and a commitment to help regularly and to be friendly and want to work as part of a really inclusive team.

We will provide you with an induction, training and support and you will be fully insured. We will give you a reference if you are looking to volunteer for a while until you have experience to look for paid employment – helpful if you want to improve your confidence when re-entering the job market.
