Mental Health Awareness Week is a significant campaign that sheds light on crucial issues affecting individuals worldwide. This year, we are highlighting the campaign, which is focusing on anxiety, by encouraging everyone here at The Living Room to wear green on Thursday 18th May. This symbolic gesture aims to raise awareness about the link between anxiety and addiction while promoting a compassionate and supportive environment for those struggling with mental health.

Anxiety disorders can be overwhelming, and often substances or addictive behaviours can be used as a way of coping. Unfortunately, this coping mechanism only exacerbates the problem, trapping individuals in a spiral of addiction and worsening their anxiety.

We recognise the vital importance of addressing mental health issues to foster holistic healing. By focusing on anxiety during Mental Health Awareness Week, we aim to generate awareness and reduce the stigma associated with anxiety disorders.

Hopefully our support for this campaign will spark conversations and promote understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with anxiety disorders and addiction. By engaging in discussions and sharing personal stories, we can cultivate a culture of compassion and understanding, thereby reducing the stigma around mental health. By wearing green, we demonstrate our commitment to standing alongside those battling mental health issues, reminding them they are not alone.
