H.O.P.E – Hearing Other People’s Experiences.

Recovery from disordered eating is possible, and this is our message for Eating Disorder Awareness Week 2024.

To underline this very important point, throughout the week, we will be sharing Snippets of Hope from clients on our social media platforms.

The Living Room has dedicated groups in Stevenage and St Albans specifically formed to treat disordered eating. Our clients often express that having this safe space to share their progress and emotions with other people experiencing similar issues is vital in healing their relationship with food and body image.

We treat all addictions, and we help you look beyond it and behaviours surrounding it. This essentially means we can help our clients look at why their eating might be disordered, or why they are using alcohol, other substances, or other behaviours, and dig deeper to understand that it might be related to underlying grief and/or trauma.

Head over to Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to see our Snippets of Hope series. If your relationship with food is causing you problems, we are here for you. You can call us for a chat, and we can book you in for an assessment with one of our highly trained counsellors who all have experience of addiction and recovery.

The Living Room offers free, time-unlimited, group therapy to adults living with addiction in Hertfordshire. We also offer support for those affected by someone else’s addiction in our Family and Carers Group.

Eating Disorder Awareness Week is led by BEAT and takes place between February 26 and March 3rd.
