20th April 2020

Help us to provide vital support to people with addictions by taking on the 2.6 challenge!

Starting on Sunday April 26th, people from all over the country, of all ages and abilities, will be taking on different challenges and nominating their friends, family and co-workers to do the same.

To take part, simply come up with an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise by creating a 2.6 Challenge fundraising page or directly donating to The Living Room.

This could be anything from running 2.6 miles, to shooting a 26 second film on your phone, 26 mins of hula hooping, 26 push ups, a 260 second poem, anything you can imagine, so be creative.

Covid-19 has had a devastating effect on charities, and we have had to cancel some of our 20th birthday celebrations such as our Quiz Night, Afternoon Tea Party, a 20k Fun Run and Songs from The Living Room. 40% of our charity’s budget comes from fundraising activity and these cancellations make it harder to provide the support our clients desperately need.

The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26th April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event – and we’re asking all of our supporters to give it a go, have a laugh, raise some money and share with your friends!

Interested? Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Dream up your 2.6 challenge – if you need help there are lots of ideas here.
  2. Start up a fundraising page via Virgin Money Giving.
  3. Ask all your friends and family to sponsor you and challenge them to do their own 2.6 Challenge
  4. Complete your challenge
  5. Share a photo or video of your challenge on social media with #TwoPointSixChallenge

Let us know what you’re doing on social media and inspire others by tweeting @LivingRoomHerts or tagging us on Facebook or Instagram. And let’s make this the most shared online challenge of 2020!
