6th October 2021

On Sunday 3rd October the Virtual London Marathon 2021 took place alongside the in-person event. This virtual event meant people could complete their London Marathon from anywhere in the world and an amazing 24,000 people across over 100 countries all ran it together.

Our runners Paul and Jo-Anne have shared why running the marathon was important to them...

It was a real pleasure for both of us to do the Virtual Marathon to raise money for The Living Room. When I started going to the The Living Room, my alcoholism was killing me. Thanks to the support of The Living Room and AA I have been sober for 3 1/2 years. Jo has always supported me in my battle with alcohol and we are both eternally grateful to The Living Room and the service they provide. It literally saved my life.

We want to give a special congratulations to Paul and Jo-Anne from everyone at The Living Room. A marathon is an amazing achievement which takes lots of strength and commitment and we are grateful they chose to raise money for our services.

If you’d like to show your support you can go to Paul and Jo-Anne's fundraising pages. Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped them to raise a wonderful £361 so far!
